Important Information for SS3 Parents

WAEC General Certificate Examination (GCE) – Second Series will begin later this month. To ensure our SS3 students are fully prepared for this examination, classes will continue until Thursday, 24th October, 2024. We implore our esteemed parents to fully collaborate with the school to ensure our students achieve excellence by ensuring these students study appropriately whenever they are at home.

 

Extension Classes for SS2 Class

Extension classes for the SS2 students will continue upon resumption from the mid-term break. In view of this, all SS2 students are expected to resume for early morning classes in school at 7AM. Afternoon classes commence at 3PM. Students are strongly advised to be present and punctual. Extension classes for SS1 students will commence by the second term of the session.

 

School Fees Defaulters

Parents/Guardians are to note that any student indebted to the school will not be allowed into the classroom effective Tuesday, 29th October, 2024. We therefore encourage our esteemed parents/guardians to pay up their children/wards’ school fees to avoid any form of embarrassment.

Lateness to School

We appeal that our esteemed parents drop their children in school daily early enough. All students are expected to be in school latest 8AM and be part of morning assembly/class reading. SS2 students are expected to be in school latest 7AM for their morning classes.

Student’s Dress Code

As a matter of necessity, parents should note that girls’ gowns should not be tight-fitting and should cover their knees while boys’ shorts should be in the range of the knee cap. Senior boys are not permitted to come to school in jeans or tightly-sewn trousers otherwise known as ‘pencil’. The recommended colour of shoes is black; no other colour is allowed. The sole of shoes should be black as well. Only white and black pairs of socks are allowed. Ankle socks are not allowed. Shoes should be flat and not high-heeled. Boots are not allowed. Shoes and socks that do not conform to the school rules and regulations will be confiscated. Boys’ haircut should be very low and even, and girls on afro must have their haircut even. Other styles of haircut apart from this are not allowed in the school.

Electronic Gadgets in School

Parents/Guardians are reminded that students are not allowed to use electronic gadgets such as phones, tablets, and laptop computers in the school, unless if expressly instructed by a teacher. Any electronic gadget seized will not be returned and the seized item will be donated during the Charity Programme to the less privileged.

Cambridge ‘A’ Level Programme

The Cambridge ‘A’ Level programme is on course. Admission is available for candidates with a minimum of five combinable ‘O’ Level credits (including English Language and Mathematics) and a minimum of C6 in each of the candidate’s combinable subjects. International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE)

The IGCSE classes will continue after the mid-term break. Interested students should take note of this. Parents who desire to avail their wards of this opportunity are to call Mr. E.T. Ayodele on 08055471527 for further enquiries.

Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)

Registration and classes for SAT are ongoing. Interested parents are to contact Mr. K.O. Ishola on 08023113822 or Mr. E.T. Ayodele on 08055471527.

Award

The Oluseyi Adesina Alabi Memorial Excellence Award for the most outstanding student in Economics (SS1) in the 2022/23 academic session was given to Lai-Folorunsho Eniola (SS2).

Donation

·           A parent, Mrs Latifat Eniola donated three copies of her book titled, The Gen Z: Nurturing the Next Generation to the school.

 

·           The Organisation for Women in Science for the Developing World (Ibadan Branch) donated twelve exercise books and ten textbooks titled, Awareness Science by Mukul Sahgal to the school. The books were presented by the Coordinator, Prof Aina Adeogun of the Department of Zoology, University of Ibadan to the school.

 

The school immensely appreciates these donations.
