· To further improve the academic ambience in the school, a new cash prize award has been instituted, The Olamide Oladeji Prize for the Best Students in Physics and Mathematics (SSS1 and SSS2). The following students are the pioneer recipients of the award.
i. Olatunji Toluwanimi (99.3%): Best Student in Physics (SSS1)
ii. Olatunji Toluwanimi (97%): Best Student in Mathematics (SSS1)
iii. Diala Chukwuemeka (92%): Best Student in Physics (SSS2)

This award is named after a proud alumnus of ISI with dual master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and in Technology and Policy at MIT, Massachusetts, USA. He recently developed several underlying algorithms for the Reference Electrification Model (REM), a computational model to provide support for electrification planning for increased electricity access in developing countries.
· The Olori Tanimowo Olorunnisola Annual Impactful Leadership Award for Teachers was awarded as follows:

2019 WASSCE and BECE Results
The school successfully presented SSS3 and JSS3 students for the 2019 WASSCE and BECE respectively. I am happy to inform you that ISI students performed excellently well. The results analysis is underway and would be provided as soon as possible.
Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)

Cambridge ‘A’ Level Programme
The Cambridge ‘A’ Level programme is on course. Admission is available for candidates with a minimum of five combinable ‘O’ Level credits (including English Language and Mathematics) and a minimum of C6 in each of the candidate’s combinable subjects. International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE)
The IGCSE registration will soon commence. Interested students in SSS2 should plan to register for the forthcoming examinations. Parents who desire to avail their wards of this opportunity are to call Mr. E.T. Ayodele on 08055471527 for further enquiries.
Payment of School Fees
Parents/Guardians are to note the following:
a. School fees for the first term 2019/20 session are as follows:
JSS2, SSS1 and SSS2: Staff: N61,750.00 Non-Staff: 81,750.00
These are to be paid into First Bank Account No. 2005514731.
b. Parents/Guardians of JSS3 and SSS3 students are to note that payment for first, second and third terms must be made on or before 18th September, 2019. The details are as follows:
JSS3: Staff: N175,750.00; Non-staff: N235,750.00
SSS3: Staff: N182,750.00; Non-staff: N242,750.00

h. ICT Fee: N8,000.00 to be paid into First Bank Account No. 2017816821. This fee is optional and is meant to be paid by parents who want their children to be part of the extra tuition (tutorials) in programmes like Microsoft Word, Adobe, Dreamweaver, CorelDraw and so on.
i. All duplicate bank tellers showing appropriate cash lodgement are to be forwarded to the school for the issuance of receipts. Scanned copies or photocopies are not acceptable.
j. Parents/Guardians interested in online payment can do so. For such payments, ensure that the narration of payment includes the name and class of your child/ward and the purpose of the lodgement (e.g. James Akintunde, JSS 2A; School fees, Ishola Oladeji JSS 2B; Boarding fees). The online generated transaction report/cyber receipt which will be generated online should be saved and sent as an attachment to isiaccountscps@yahoo.com. The payment will be acknowledged by the issuance of receipt, which concerned parents can pick up from the Accounts department of the school.
Holiday Extension/GCE Classes for SSS3 Students
All SSS3 students are expected to commence their extension classes on Monday, 5th August, 2019. Hostel facilities are available from Sunday, 4th August till Saturday, 13th September, 2019. The classes shall start on 05/08/2019 and end on 30/08/2019. Any day student who desires to be in the hostel during this period is free to do so. However, a letter must be written to the principal. Details of requisite charges are in the table below.

Extension Classes for SSS2 and SSS3 Classes
Extension classes for the SSS2 and SSS3 students will continue upon resumption. In view of this, all SSS2 and SSS3 students are expected to resume for early morning classes in school at 7AM. Afternoon classes shall commence at 3PM. A timetable to this effect will be released immediately school resumes in September. Students are strongly advised to be present and punctual. Extension classes for SSS1 students will commence by the second term of the session.
Coming Late to School
Few students still come late to school in spite of the continuous sensitisation against this. All students are expected to be in school latest 8:00AM and be part of the daily morning assembly.
We have discovered that the late-coming of students to school is mostly caused by parents. Consequently, we plead with parents who drop their children in school daily to be alive to this responsibility and ensure they drop them in school early.
Student’s Dress Code (School Uniform and Shoes; House Wears for Boarders)
In spite of continuous admonition to parents/guardians to sew new sets of uniforms for their children/wards at the beginning of each session, it is disheartening to note that few of our students are in school with uniforms and house wears they have outgrown. We have been sending such students home (day students) while boarders are not allowed in classes until parents/guardians make replacements. Girls’ gowns should not be tight-fitting and should cover their knees while boys’ shorts should be in the range of the knee cap. Senior boys are not permitted to come to school in jeans or tightly-sewn trousers otherwise known as ‘pencil’. The recommended colour of shoes is black; no other colour is allowed. The sole of shoes should be black as well. Only white and black pairs of socks are allowed. Ankle socks are not allowed. Shoes should be flat and not high-heeled. Boots are not allowed. Shoes and socks that do not conform to the school rules and regulations will be confiscated. Boys’ haircut should be very low and even. Other styles of haircut apart from this are not allowed in school. Students should be properly dressed in accordance with rules and regulations of the school.
School Cardigans
Parents/Guardians are hereby informed that the recommended school cardigans are available in the school at the rate of N2,800.00. Kindly note that only the recommended school cardigans would be permitted in the school and any cardigan at variance with the recommended type would be seized.
Electronic Gadgets in School
In spite of repeated warnings to our students to desist from bringing electronic gadgets such as phones, tablets, laptop computers and so on to school, a handful of our students still bring them. This is a reminder to parents that the school will not return any seized gadget. The seized items will be donated during Charity Programme to the less privileged.
Boarders Dining Etiquette
As a matter of necessity, each boarder student should resume to school with sufficient cutlery. No boarder will be allowed to lend or borrow any type of cutlery.
The ISI Mobile NewsApp
All school related information can be found on ISI NewsApp. Parents/guardians should cultivate the habit of regularly checking this App to keep abreast of developments in the school. The NewsApp can be downloaded on the school website (www.isi.ui.edu.ng).
Quality Assurance in Service Delivery
Every school term, the Institute of Education, University of Ibadan, conducts a supervision of the teaching and learning activities in the school to ensure quality service delivery. I am glad to report that the school management received a good report this term.
Sea School Training at Apapa Lagos
Eighty-nine (89) students, which included the school prefects and other interested SSS 2 students, took part in the leadership training mentioned above. The training lasted from 24th July through 29 July, 2019. The training is necessary to help the students acquire necessary leadership qualities as leaders of tomorrow.
Donations
Fifteen (15) copies of The New Caxton Encyclopaedia (vol.9) were donated by the president of ISI’S Student Representative Council (2018/2019 session), Aliu-Momoh Ikpemosi Basir,
Donations to the school this 2018/19 session have been simply overwhelming. The school appreciates all our donors which include our students, parents, teachers, alumni and kind-hearted Nigerians.

Conclusion
Parents/Guardians are advised to encourage their children/wards on the need to engage themselves in academic and leadership related activities during the vacation. The holiday period is not only for leisure but also to develop one’s intellectual abilities outside the four walls of the school.
