The School Promotion Criteria

Parents/guardians are advised to continually charge their children/wards to strive towards meeting up with these criteria so as to earn promotion to the next class. New students are particularly advised to take note of the following;

SS classes: 5 credits including English Language and Mathematics. JSS classes: 7 credits including English Language and Mathematics.

JS1 Students

Parents of this category of students, particularly day students, are advised to create time for their wards and ensure their ward’s notebooks are checked each day they return from school. The students also need to be guided in doing their assignment and turning in same, timely. The JS1 students, not too long ago, translated from primary school and still need a lot of attention to excel in their academics. This attention cannot be given by the school alone. Therefore, the home needs to be alive to this clarion call, to complement the developmental efforts of the school on students.

Payment of School Fees

Defaulting parents/guardians are advised to pay up their children/ward’s school fees before sending them back to school after the mid-term break. Parents/guardians are to please avoid the embarrassment they are likely to be subjected to in the school as a result of non-compliance.

Late-coming to School by Day Students

In spite of the efforts of the school to curb late-coming to its minimum, an appreciable number of our students still come late to school. This is not to the advantage of the late-coming students as they are punished, sent home or possibly miss the first four classes. We therefore appeal, once again, to parents of our day students to ensure they get to school before 8:00am in order to make the morning assembly.

Student’s Dress Code

In spite of our repeated admonition to parents/guardians to sew a new set of uniforms for the students at the beginning of a new session, it is disheartening to note that many of our students are in school with uniforms and house wears they have outgrown. We have been sending such students home (day students) while boarders are not allowed in classes until parents make replacements. Girl’s gowns should not be tight-fitting and should cover their knees while boy’s knickers should be in the range of the knee cap. The senior boys are not permitted to come to school in jeans or tightly-sewn trousers otherwise known as ‘pencil’. The recommended colour of shoes is black, no other colour is allowed. The sole of shoes should be black as well. Only white and black socks are allowed. Ankle socks are not allowed. Shoes should be flat and not high-heeled. Boots are not allowed. Shoes and socks that do not conform to the school rules and regulations will be confiscated. Boys’ haircut should be very low and even, no other style of haircut is allowed in school.

2018 World Book day Celebration

This is to inform parents and students that the 2018 world Book Day would hold on 22nd February, 2018. An essay writing competition would be organized to mark the day. Interested students are to write a composition on a book that you have read which impacted you in a positive way.
